Welcome to the Queen City Transportation Museum!

Visit the Queen City Transportation Museum and see the Dream of James Richard Thrasher. Mr. Thrasher had a passion for horse-drawn vehicles and spent about thirty years of his life collection and restoring vehicles ranging from wagons to automobiles. He used many vehicles in local parades and a few even traveled into movies.

In 1977 Mr. Thrasher opened a museum to display his collection in the Midland School, which he attended as a child. Upon his death Allegany County purchased the collection and opened the Thrasher Carriage Museum in Frostburg. However, the site could display only about one-third of the collection with the remainder placed in storage. Today Mr. Thrasher's dream to display his collection has come true with two sites exhibiting a legacy of early transportation and history.
